IT Research Workshop @ IFIP World Computer Congress

The goal of the IT Research Workshop is to bring together the leading university and industry researchers in the area of Information Technology and promote research cooperation. The topics of the workshop include but are not limited to:

  • Data Science
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Machine Learning
  • Big Data
  • Decision Support
  • Robotics, IoT

More and more companies located in Poland seek their competitive advantage in implementing the results of research in the area of IT. On the other hand many Polish universities conduct research in this area at the highest international level. The potential of cooperation between academia and industry is definitely underexploited.

IT Research Workshop will be held as a part of the IFIP World Computer Congress 2018 organized by Poznan University of Technology, Faculty of Computing and the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). The congress, with expected 1000 participants, combines contributions from industry and research, providing a place for integrating these two sectors as well as offering an opportunity to showcase and discover innovative ideas.

The envisioned program of the Workshop includes:

  • Keynote presentations by several leading researchers from academia and industry
  • Regular talks and poster presentations
  • Panel discussion on the potential and barriers for academia-industry cooperation in research in IT
  • Speed dating session

The mission of the workshop is to present a balanced perspective on the IT research in both communities, therefore we look forward to attract approximately 50%of participants from academia and 50% from industry.
